New Student Orientation Program
Welcome to the 550th Air Force ROTC Detachment, located at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. We would like to invite you to attend the New Student Orientation Program (NSOP) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Campus. NSOP is a program for all incoming cadets prior to the start of the Fall 2016 semester on Wednesday 24 August.
NSOP is a cadet and cadre run event designed to welcome new students to the ROTC Program. This two day program will familiarize new cadets with the basics of Air Force ROTC; both student and cadet life at RPI. Most importantly, it provides an opportunity for students and parents to see what our program is all about while simultaneously facilitating a smooth transition into college and ROTC. This web site provides all the essential information needed to attend NSOP. The tabs listed at the top of the page are intended to be read in detail by prospective cadets. Please carefully read and complete all the required steps. Pay specific attention to the “Required Paperwork” tab, as these items are required for participation in NSOP. Do not hesitate to contact us with any questions that you might have.
Once again, welcome to the program and we look forward to meeting you all!
NOTE: NSOP is a voluntary event if it occurs prior to your academic term beginning. NSOP is supervised by active duty detachment officers and is conducted in an at ease environment of training.
