1st Lt Ostrowski is Assistant Professor of Air and Space Studies (APAS), Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps, Detachment 550, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In this capacity, 1stLt Ostrowski recruits, trains, motivates and counsels highly-qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force officers.
1st Lt Ostrowski is a native of Broadalbin, New York. He entered active duty in 2011 after graduating from The United States Air Force Academy with a BS in Economics. 1stLt Ostrowski’s first assignment was to the Operation Contracting Directorate at Tinker AFB, OK. He worked as the OIC, Contracting Officer for the 21 member Construction Flight that performed cradle to grave contracting for $103M annually. He personally led a 660 contract portfolio including a $6M runway expansion and $9M multiagency source selection. 1stLt Ostrowski continued to procure the $40M SABER source selection supporting 36k personnel, 7 Wings and 45 associate units. Before leaving Tinker AFB 1st Lt Ostrowski orchestrated a $134M flagship green energy upgrade, reducing Tinker’s energy footprint by 30% with $6.4M in annual savings. His leadership and influence was a key factor to the AFMC 2012 Operational Contracting Large Team Award.
