Projects: Troop supplies - we're going through with it; Water-based supplies for hygiene; Non-perishables; Send out fliers, put out boxes, also done at Albany and Sienna; Hockey games, sporting events, UAlbany/Sienna games; Design flier Facebook WRPI, Concerto Lead by Kloepfer Drill meet: need volunteers for concession stand Working with MWR platoon - join AAS-MWR program Scheusler Manning table - volunteers; Suspense - before Spring Break 18 People Get people from wing Doesn't count as wing job -- Right vs. Right situations - tell the blunt truth or take one for the team Integrity: Be trustworthy - honesty and truth independant of concequence (can be serious concequences later on) DOing the right thing even when no one else is looking; doing the right thing because it is the right thing True to Values - loyalty to friends, Humility-selflessness If your values are wrong (ie- Hitler), is following the integrity? Where do our personal and professional values overlap? Religious morals. Live up to values; Officer 24/7 - lifestyle (believe in it, don't just follow it) Surround yourself with people with values that line up with yours - people who encourage you to follow them. Situations where saying the right thing vs. saying the true thing White lies - okay? - depends on who you're telling them to. Ex. don't tell the Acadamy you've been to the doctor when you've not. Tact - avoiding the question, not lying? Phrasing something nicely and in a positive light? (ex. Drill Team commander c/3C talking to annoying commander on the drill team) White lie vs. all-out lie - to get yourself out of trouble = lie; lie = when you don't want to tell the truth, white lie = when you don't want the truth to hurt. Integrity is independant of concequence - lie is a lie "Outstanding, sir!" - a lie? Who benefits/is harmed? Target? Reason? Consequence? Lie to hurt an enemy or to get away? Give misinformation. Two conflicting core values - Service before Self and Integrity First Oath is to Constitution - that is the #1 priority. Camraderie - Service before Self Gain the trust of the people Respect for team vs. boss Lie for someone = make them weaker? Service before self to take responsibility for someone else's failure? Our team in ROTC - what's the definition? Where does it stop? Flight? Squadron? Class? Wing? AF? America? Who benefits? Who is harmed? How do you help your team? "Ratting out" or integrity? How can we help out our teammates and our flight? Don't let things go - be accountable for each other Be accountable for yourself
